Electromagnetic suspension iron removers are used in quartz sand production lines to remove iron particles from material on the conveyor belt. However, a common problem is that when the power is cut off to release the iron, residual iron particles remain stuck to the magnetic poles and do not fall off. As iron particles accumulate thicker and thicker, the magnetic force is shielded, and the iron-removal effect gradually declines.

Oil contamination on the surface of the magnetic poles is the primary cause. The quartz sand processing site has a lot of dust. If there is lubricating oil leakage near the equipment, oil contamination adheres to the surface of the magnetic poles, and iron particles are stuck by the oil film and cannot fall off on their own after the power is cut off. The solution is to regularly wipe the surface of the magnetic poles with diesel or cleaning agents to keep it clean. It is recommended to check once a week and clean up oil contamination promptly when found.
A malfunction of the iron-release vibrator can also cause residual iron particles. The electromagnetic iron remover relies on the vibrator to shake off iron particles at the moment the power is cut off. When the vibrator is damaged or the amplitude is insufficient, the iron particles remain on the magnetic poles. Check whether the vibrator motor is running normally and whether the amplitude meets the requirements. If the vibrator is normal but the iron particles still do not fall off, there may be pits or wear on the surface of the magnetic poles, and the iron particles are stuck in the pits. The surface needs to be ground smooth or the magnetic poles need to be replaced.
When the moisture content of the material is too high, iron particles bond with dust, making iron release more difficult. The moisture content of the material should be controlled below 1%, and a drying device should be installed before the iron remover if necessary. During daily inspections, observe the iron release situation once per shift and handle any residue promptly to avoid affecting the iron-removal effect.
