After the trommel screen has been running for a period of time, the drum body deviates. This is a problem encountered by many customers. The drum rotates with one side high and the other low, the material distribution on the screen surface is uneven, the wear rate of the support rollers is significantly accelerated, and in severe cases, the drum body rubs against the frame and produces abnormal noise. The problem usually lies in the adjustment of the support rollers and the levelness of the drum body.
The four support rollers not being on the same horizontal plane is the primary cause of deviation. The trommel screen relies on four support rollers to support the rotation of the drum body. When the installation height or wear degree of the support rollers is inconsistent, the axis of the drum body tilts, and during operation it naturally moves toward the lower side. The inspection method is simple: use a spirit level to measure the top height of the four support rollers separately. If the deviation exceeds 2mm, readjustment is required. When adjusting, take the two support rollers on the diagonal as a group and raise or lower them synchronously, adjusting 1-2mm each time, and observe the change in the running direction of the drum body until the drum body is stable and no longer moves.
Uneven wear of the support rollers will also aggravate the deviation. Quartz sand dust enters the support roller bearings or the roller surface. After wear, pits or uneven wear appear on the roller surface, the force on the contact surface between the drum body riding ring and the support rollers becomes uneven, and the deviation becomes more and more serious. It is recommended to check the wear condition of the support roller surface once a quarter. When the wear exceeds 2mm, replace or turn and repair it. Replenish the support roller bearings with grease every 500 working hours to keep them rotating flexibly.
The contact angle between the drum body riding ring and the support rollers also needs to be checked. Normally, the axis of the support rollers should be parallel to the axis of the drum body, and the contact surface should bear force evenly. If the deflection angle of the support rollers is too large, the drum body will receive lateral thrust during rotation, which will also cause deviation. Adjust the positioning bolts of the support roller bracket, place a straight ruler against the side of the support roller and compare it with the axis of the drum body, and control the deviation within 1mm.
During daily inspections, pay attention to whether the drum body runs smoothly and whether there is periodic movement. When deviation is found, troubleshoot one by one in the order of "first measure the height of the support rollers, then check the wear of the roller surface, and finally check the contact angle."
