The vibration motor is the power source of the dewatering screen, and burnout is one of the most serious faults reported by customers. Once the motor burns out, the entire screen shuts down; replacement takes half a day at minimum and up to a full day, affecting production line operation. The problem usually lies in three areas: heat dissipation, wiring, and operating load.

Poor heat dissipation is the primary cause of motor burnout. Vibration motors generate substantial heat internally, which is carried away by the housing cooling fins and surrounding air circulation. If the installation location has poor ventilation, or the cooling fins are clogged with dust and oil, the motor temperature keeps rising, insulation aging accelerates, and ultimately an inter-turn short circuit causes burnout. It is recommended to clean accumulated dust and oil from the motor housing cooling fins once a month to maintain smooth ventilation. During routine inspections, touch the motor housing with the back of your hand; if it is too hot to keep your hand on, the temperature has exceeded the limit and the machine should be stopped immediately for investigation.
Loose wiring terminals can also cause motor burnout. Vibration motors operate under high-frequency vibration, and terminals inside the junction box tend to loosen; increased contact resistance leads to localized heating, and in severe cases the wiring burns through or even ignites the insulation. Open the junction box quarterly and tighten each terminal with a screwdriver, and ensure the cable entry is properly sealed against water to prevent dust and moisture from entering. If terminals show signs of blackening or burning, replace them and check whether the cable insulation is damaged.
Prolonged overload operation is more than the motor can handle. When the feed rate exceeds the screen's rated processing capacity, motor load increases, current rises, and temperature climbs accordingly. Check whether the operating current exceeds the nameplate rated value; if it does, reduce the feed rate appropriately. In addition, loose motor mounting bolts cause relative displacement between the motor and the screen box, reducing vibration energy transfer efficiency and actually increasing motor load, which can likewise lead to overheating and burnout. Check mounting bolt tightness once a month.
During routine inspections, record the motor operating current and temperature once per shift, and address any abnormalities promptly. If you encounter equipment operation problems, you are welcome to contact the Shanlu Heavy Industry technical team: Manager Zhang 13583776655 (same on WeChat).
