The double-tube calcination furnace processes quartz minerals through high-temperature roasting and rapid cooling, causing the minerals to expand when heated and then rapidly contract upon cooling, which concentrates internal stress and generates cracks. This treatment destroys the gas-liquid inclusions in quartz sand, effectively preventing bubbles from forming in high-purity quartz products. In addition, high-temperature calcination can effectively break down the structure of muscovite and silicate-based quartz minerals, prompting the quartz to fracture and expose internal impurities. This process facilitates subsequent treatment steps such as acid washing and water washing, further improving the purity and processing efficiency of quartz minerals.
Working Principle
The double-tube calcination furnace uses a motor to drive a reducer and transmits power through chains and sprockets to drive a furnace tube made of stainless steel seamless pipe or high-purity quartz tube. This furnace tube heats quartz stone or quartz sand at high temperature, causing it to expand rapidly. Then, through water quenching or spray cooling, the minerals are rapidly cooled, generating cracks due to concentrated stress, prompting the quartz to fracture and eliminating gas-liquid inclusions within the quartz sand. This series of treatment processes helps improve the quality and purity of high-purity quartz sand, ensuring it meets higher application requirements.
