Desliming Thickening Hopper

The desliming cone is a specialized piece of equipment used for the classification, desliming, and concentration of quartz sand.
It has the shape of an inverted cone. A feed cylinder is set at the center of the liquid surface, with the lower edge of the cylinder submerged to a certain depth below the liquid surface. The slurry is fed into the central cylinder along a tangential direction and, after buffering, flows out from the lower edge. The outflowing slurry then flows radially toward the peripheral overflow weir.
During this process, coarse particles with a settling velocity greater than the upward component of the liquid flow velocity will settle in the tank and be discharged through the bottom sand outlet. Fine particles pass along with the surface slurry into the overflow launder. The feed particle size is generally less than 2 m. The classification particle size is 75 μm or finer.
It plays the role of dewatering and uniform discharging in the production line.
